The Eastwood volleyball team went 2-1 last week with league wins over Otsego in five sets and Genoa in straight sets before falling to Archbold in a non-league tilt.

In the reverse sweep victory over Otsego, Mack Miller broke the program’s single-match kills record with 36 and became the second player in program history to reach 1,000 terminations, joining former BGSU standout, Katelyn Meyer. Ivy Schrader added 18 kills and four aces, while Stella Chlebowski and Addyson Leppelmeier had three aces each. Defensively, Olivia Riter (21), Schrader (18), Chlebowski (17), and Miller (17) all had double-digit digs, while Leppelmeier added seven. Riter also tied a school single-match school record with 56 assists.

Against Genoa, the duo of Miller (15) and Schrader (14) combined for 29 of the team’s 40 kills, while Riter dished out 25 assists. Chlebowski (13) and Miller (12) had double-digit digs, while Miller and Maya Schmeltz had two blocks each. Whitley Lubash had three aces, and the group of Chlebowski, Miller, Leppelmeier, and Riter had two each.

The loss to Archbold featured 16 kills and nine digs for Miller, while Riter had 23 assists.

The Eagles (11-3, 8-0 NBC) could essentially determine their fate in the NBC race this week with matchups against Oak Harbor and Lake.

The Genoa volleyball team went 1-1 last week with a four-set win over Fostoria and a loss against Eastwood.

Against Fostoria, Makenna Moritz (11), Riley Sinift (8), Vivian Clement (6), and Kylie Pennington (5) combined for 30 of the team’s 34 kills. The Comets also racked up 14 aces, led by four each from Mya Rethman and Lucy Schlageter, while Clement (3) and Charli Magnone (2) had five. Sinift and Moritz had four blocks each, while Magnone (16) and Schlageter (10) had 26 digs. Schlageter finished off a double-double with 14 assists, and Moritz chipped in nine.

Against Eastwood, the trio of Sinift (6), Moritz (5), and Schlageter (4) combined for 15 of Genoa’s 17 kills, while Sinift and Moritz had two aces each. Clement had two blocks. Magnone had 10 digs, and Moritz had 10 assists.

The Comets (5-8, 2-6 NBC) are back in action this week against Lake, Maumee, and Northwood.

The Cardinal Stritch volleyball team went 3-1 last week with wins over St. Mary Central Catholic, Toledo Christian and North Baltimore, while they lost to Gibsonburg.

Hayden Mathena led Stritch with 23 assists against SMCC, while Morgan Kennedy (21) and Ryley Rodriguez (13) had 34 digs. Olivia Ford (5), Gabby Cathers (4), Kennedy (4), and Jasmine Peek (3) combined for 16 aces. Cathers led the Cardinals offense with 11 terminations, while White and Ford had six and five, respectively.

Mathena had 24 assists against Toledo Christian, while Ford (15) and Cathers (7) combined for 22 kills. Mathena (4), Ford (4), Cathers, and Rodriguez had at least three aces each. Kennedy had a team-best five digs.

Stats weren’t reported for the Gibsonburg and North Baltimore matches.

The Cardinals (8-4, 2-1 TAAC) are back in action this week against Ottawa Hills.

The Lake volleyball team produced straight-set wins over Rossford and Fostoria last week.

Savanna Saunders led the Flyers with 24 assists against Rossford, while Lucy Boos contributed 13, as well. Calli Conley, who also had four assists, totaled a match-best 21 digs, and Kortny Rollins had 10. Kennedy Falkenberg led all players with 16 kills, out-terminating Rossford’s entire team by two. Mylah Vorst and Harlow Haberland each had eight kills. Saunders also had four aces.

Saunders (13) and Boos (10) combined for 23 assists against Fostoria. Laynie Meadows had a team-high five digs. Sophia Rudey had four of Lake’s 20 aces, and the group of Saunders, Boos, Meadows, Rollins, and Conley had three each. Jada Jerew had the other one. Vorst terminated 10 shots, while Falkenberg had eight.

The Flyers (11-2, 7-1) could move back into a share of the NBC lead with wins over Genoa and Eastwood this week. They’ll also face Avon, Liberty-Benton, and Perrysburg on Saturday in an invitational at Perrysburg High School.

The Oak Harbor volleyball team had a successful, busy week with straight-set wins over Gibsonburg and Maumee, followed by a five-set win over Otsego.

Alayna Hall and Tatum Baumgartner had 10 kills each against Gibsonburg. Laney Schmidt had three aces, while Bella Rios and Hall had two stuffs each. Myley Sandwisch (16), Ava Lynch (15), Baumgartner (14), and Morgan Lalonde (11) had 56 of the team’s 57 digs. Sandwisch (14) and Rios (12) added 26 assists.

Sandwisch led the Rockets with 26 assists against Maumee, while Rios added nine. The group of Lynch (18), Baumgartner (16), Lalonde (15), and Sandwisch (13) had double-digit digs. Lalonde had five aces. Baumgartner led the Rockets offensively with 15 kills, while Hall had eight. Sandwisch finished three terminations shy of a triple-double.

Sandwisch had a team-best 20 kills against Otsego, while Baumgartner (19) and Hall (16) combined for 35. Lynch (27), Sandwisch (15), Baumgartner (14), and Rios (10) had 66 digs. Rios led Oak Harbor with 26 assists, and Sandwisch finished off the double-double with 24 helpers.

The Rockets (13-3, 6-2 NBC) are back in action this week against Eastwood and Rossford.

The Gibsonburg volleyball team went 4-0 last week with straight-set wins over Danbury, St. Mary Central Catholic, North Baltimore, and Cardinal Stritch.

Leah Hall had 10 kills, eight digs, and four aces in the win over Danbury, while Riley Gressman had eight kills, four digs, four aces, and five blocks. Brooklyn Smith and Mackenzie Muntz had six digs each, while Muntz added four aces. Katie Hall (14) and Brooklyn Smith (10) combined for 24 assists.

Gressman (14) and Hall (12) combined for 26 kills against SMCC, while Ava Dawson (8) and Muntz (6) totaled 14. Dawson led the Golden Bears in digs with 14, while Emma Jividen had 11. Gibsonburg had 14 aces as a team, led by three each from Leah Hall, Muntz, and Smith. Katie Hall (14) and Smith (11) totaled 25 assists, and Ava Amor had eight. Muntz led the team with six blocks.

Gressman produced 10 kills to lead Gibsonburg against North Baltimore. Katie Hall (12) and Smith (9) totaled 21 assists, and Gressman had two aces.

The win over Stritch featured eight kills from Leah Hall along with five apiece from Gressman and Muntz. Dawson had 12 digs, while Smith (8), Katie Hall (7) and Jividen (6) compiled 21 total. Smith added three aces and eight assists, while Emily Henderson had three blocks.

The Golden Bears (10-5, 7-3 SBC) will be back in action this week against Old Fort, Northwood, and Margaretta.

The Clay volleyball team went 3-2 last week with straight-set wins over BGHS, Southview, and Cathedral Prep, along with two-set losses to Wadsworth and Olmsted Falls in a Saturday invitational.

Eme Goetz (22) and Leah Hazuda (10) had double-digit kills against Bowling Green. Maddie Franke led the way serving with three aces. Halle Brenot had four of Clay’s eight blocks. Franke (14) and Jadyn Kennedy (12) combined for 26 digs, and Hayden Rodriguez had 38 assists.

Rodriguez added 46 assists against Southview, while Kennedy (7), Rodriguez, Franke, Hazuda, and Goetz had at least six digs. The duo of Hazuda and Goetz had three blocks each. Goetz (17) and Hazuda (12) recorded 29 total terminations.

Stats from Saturday’s invitational were unavailable.

The Eagles (10-5, 8-1 NLL) will be back in action this week against Perrysburg and Napoleon.

The Woodmore volleyball team went 1-2 last week with a straight-set win over Northwood along with losses to Lakota and Danbury.

Vida Guillen led Woodmore with 19 assists against Lakota, while the duo of Ariana Florio (17) and Payton Whitcum (14) tallied 31 digs. Lacey Lipstraw and Florio had two blocks each, and Florio led the squad with seven aces. Lipstraw (11) and Florio (10) had double-digit kills.

Guillen and Samantha Bush each had 10 assists against Northwood. Whitcum (24) and Florio (19) combined for 43 digs. Lipstraw and Karli Heins had three blocks each, and Bush had three aces. Florio had 12 kills to lead the team.

Florio added a team-best 12 kills against Danbury, while Lipstraw and Florio had two blocks each. Florio (16), Whitcum (13), and Guillen (12) had double-digit digs, and Guillen led Woodmore with 11 assists.

The Wildcats (4-11, 4-6 SBC) are slated to face Ottawa Hills, Lakota, and SJCC this week.

The Waite volleyball team (2-11, 0-4 CL) dropped matches to Rossford, Port Clinton, and Northwood last week. No statistics were reported. The Indians will be back in action against Lima Senior this week.

The Northwood volleyball team went 1-2 last week with a straight-set win over Waite and losses to Woodmore and SJCC. No statistics were reported. The Rangers (4-10, 1-9 SBC) will be back in action against Gibsonburg and Genoa this week.
