Genoa (9-3, 4-1 NBC) ran its winning streak to six straight and nine of its past 10 with two tough non-league victories on the road over Perrysburg (36-32) and Gibsonburg (50-38).

Makenna Moritz registered a game-best 16 points in the win over Perrysburg, although Lucy Schlageter had all 11 of her points in the second half. In fact, every field was crucial from her. The first one started a comeback from 22-13 down early in the third quarter, and the next one tied the game at 22 apiece. Following that, she gave the Comets a 26-25 lead through three. Her jumper with 7:19 left tied the game, and a second chance layup from Schlageter gave the Comets a 32-30 lead with 4:26 left, and they never trailed again. Addi Moritz added five points, and all of them came in the second quarter where she provided all of the team’s points.

In the win over Gibsonburg, Addi Moritz took her turn producing the scoring load with a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds. She drained a trio of shots from long distance. Makenna Moritz added 14 points, seven rebounds, and two assists, while Keira Combs had seven points and six rebounds. Schlageter had four points and eight rebounds.

Gibsonburg (7-3, 5-0 SBC) pushed its winning streak to seven straight with a win over Lakota (44-27) before falling to Genoa (50-38) to conclude the week.

The league win over Lakota saw Gibsonburg overcome a 16-15 deficit at the half behind a 14-2 scoring advantage in the third and a 29-11 overall margin in the second half. Elly Evarts had a game-high 16 points, along with four assists, three rebounds, two steals, and one block. Leah Hall added a game-best 12 rebounds while producing six points, three steals, and one assist. Ava Dawson finished second in points with eight along with six boards, three assists, and two steals. Mackenzie Muntz and Emily Henderson each finished second on the glass with seven rebounds. Henderson also matched Hall with three steals.

Gibsonburg faltered in the first and fourth quarters against Genoa, as the visiting Comets outscored the Golden Bears 26-15 in those two frames, which was one fewer than the total margin of victory. Evarts had a team-best 14 points along with seven boards and five dimes. Dawson tallied nine points, while Hall had four points and a game-best 10 rebounds. Henderson had five points and five rebounds.

Lake (7-5, 2-3 NBC) split a pair of games during the week, dropping a heartbreaker to Clyde (37-36) before taking down Lakota (48-31). Both were non-league contests on the road.

Trailing 31-23 through three, Lake put up a battle in the fourth quarter, outscoring Clyde 13-6 before falling one point shy at the end. The Flyers got all of their points from three players, including Brooke Wiley (13), Paige Allen (12), and Aubrina Morales (11).

Lake used a strong start in the win over Lakota, jumping out to a 17-4 lead through one, 28-16 at the half, and 41-22 through three. The Flyers had a balanced scoring effort, getting 26 points combined from the duo of Wiley (14) and Morales (12), while Allen (8), Rowan Brossia (6), and Gabby Morales (5) added 19 total.

Eastwood (5-4, 3-2 NBC) split a pair of games during the week, falling to Patrick Henry (75-33) before defeating Allen East (64-57). Both were non-league contests on the road.

The Eagles were outscored 24-9 in the second quarter against Patrick Henry as the hosts seized control of the game. The Eagles had seven different players score, led by 17 points collectively from Karissa Nelson (9) and Mack Miller (8). Kenna Nelson (5) and Lauren Schuerman (4) collaborated for nine points.

Eastwood rebounded with a hard-fought 64-57 win over Allen East that saw Ava Kachmarik score a team-high 20 points on four 3-pointers. Karly Wasserman scored 12 of her 15 points from long distance, while Schuerman had 10 points. Miller (6), Karissa Nelson (5), Kenna Nelson (4), and Gracyn Reiter (4) totaled 19 points combined. Miller pulled down a game-best 15 rebounds, while Karissa Nelson added eight assists and four steals.

Oak Harbor (8-4, 5-0 NBC) dropped a pair of tough non-league heartbreakers on the road to Norwalk (33-32) and Central Catholic (55-52), the latter of which went to four overtimes. The Rockets also had a three overtime game against Margaretta earlier this season.

The Norwalk game was nip-and-tuck throughout with no team leading by more than two at the end of each quarter. Brooke Tabbert led the Rockets with a game-best 12 points, including buckets in each quarter. Reghan Markley added eight points, all of which came in the first half, and Haylee Robinson also had eight, all of which were scored in the second half.

In the loss to Central Catholic, both teams combined for 11 free throws and zero field goals in the final overtime, with the Fighting Irish producing a 7-4 advantage for the win. Oak Harbor rallied from a 29-20 deficit through three to originally force overtime. Kendall Gaines, who was the lone Rocket to foul out, joined Tabbert with a team-high 14 points. Markley added 10 points

Cardinal Stritch (3-7, 1-1 TAAC) dropped three games during the week to Toledo Christian (68-32), Bowling Green (67-22), and Hopewell-Loudon (41-18).

Morgan Kennedy (16) and Amaya Hill (13) combined for 29 points against Toledo Christian, while Hill finished off a double-double with 14 rebounds and two blocks. Alivia Castro (6) and Makayla “KK” Miltz (5) totaled 11 rebounds combined, while Miltz also had three steals.

Hill poured in 16 of her team’s 22 points against BGHS, while Castro and Kennedy evenly split the other six. Stats weren’t reported for the Hopewell-Loudon game.

Woodmore (6-3, 4-1 SBC) did not compete during the week.

Northwood (1-7, 1-4 SBC) fell to Continental (48-38) in its lone game of the week. Stats weren’t reported.

Waite (0-8, 0-2 City League) fell to Summit Country Day (52-16) in its lone game of the week. Stats weren’t reported.

Clay (0-8, 0-3 NLL) fell to Start (73-8) in its lone contest of the week. Stats weren’t reported.
