Gibsonburg (3-2, 3-0 SBC) improved its winning streak to three with wins over New Riegel (64-12) and Woodmore (47-42) last week.

Eleven different players reached the scoring column in the win over New Riegel, led by 15 from Leah Hall, 11 from Emma Jividen, and 10 from Elly Evarts. Ava Dawson added eight more, and Taylor Rapp had five. Emily Henderson and Rapp had six rebounds each, and Hall chipped in five. Evarts had a team-best five assists along with four steals, while Hall (6) and Jividen (4) added 10 more thefts.

Evarts exploded for a game-high 31 points in a hard-fought SBC win over Woodmore. Hall chipped in seven, while Dawson had four. Hall added a game-best 12 rebounds, while Evarts and Henderson added six apiece. Evarts also had three assists, three steals, and two blocks.

Woodmore (2-3, 2-1 SBC) split a pair of games last week in SBC action, defeating Hopewell-Loudon (49-11) before falling to Gibsonburg (47-42).

The Wildcats scored the first 18 points of the game against Hopewell-Loudon, en route to a 24-5 lead at the half. Camille Strong (12) and Keira Travis (10) combined for 22 points.

After a nip-and-tuck first half, Woodmore saw Gibsonburg reel off 12 of the first 14 points in the third quarter, which they used to hold off the Wildcats at the end. Woodmore got as close as 42-40 with 1:43 left on a pair of free throws from Kelsey Kaylor and a field goal from Karli Heins, but Gibsonburg made five-of-six from the foul line down the stretch to seal it. Kaylor and Ariana Florio produced a team-best 11 points each.

Lake (5-2, 2-2 NBC) improved its winning streak to three straight with wins over Northwood (52-20) and Rossford (58-23).

The Flyers opened the week with a season-high 29-point explosion from Brooke Wiley, who led seven players in the scoring column. Rowan Brossia finished second with six points, while Aubrina Morales and Kaydence Eckenrode had five points apiece. Gabby Moreno made her season debut, and she totaled two points. Kali Kos also added two points.

Wiley added another big performance with a game-high 27 points against Rossford, while Morales added a season-best 15 points. Paige Allen had seven points, and Brossia added six. The Flyers outscored the Bulldogs 19-0 in the fourth quarter.

Genoa (3-3, 2-1 NBC) split a pair of games last week, beginning with a hard-fought, come-from-behind win over Eastwood (63-54) and a loss to Oak Harbor (51-40).

In the week’s opener, Genoa reeled off 22 consecutive points in the fourth quarter, producing a victory over Eastwood after trailing 50-41 with 5:31 remaining. Four players scored all of the points for the Comets, including Makenna Moritz (18), Addi Moritz (16), Kylie Pennington (15), and Lucy Schlageter (14). All of Pennington’s points came in the second half.

Genoa got a combined 26 points from Makenna Moritz (15) and Schlageter (11) in the loss to Oak Harbor.

Eastwood (4-2, 3-1 NBC) split a pair of games in league play during the week, falling to Genoa (63-54) before defeating Otsego (51-34).

The Eagles were a victim of tough luck in the loss to Genoa, seeing Ava Kachmarik and her game-high 20 points foul out with around five minutes remaining, which contributed to the loss. Eastwood also got 11 points and eight rebounds from Karissa Nelson, along with nine points from Karly Wasserman. Kenna Nelson added seven points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Schuerman had seven points, and Mack Miller pulled down 10 rebounds.

Kachmarik and Karissa Nelson totaled 16 points apiece against Otsego, while Nelson also had seven rebounds and seven steals. Wasserman added eight points, while Miller grabbed 11 boards.

Oak Harbor (5-1, 3-0 NBC) improved its winning streak to three straight and remained undefeated in league play with wins over Port Clinton (52-21) and Genoa (51-40).

In the week’s opener against Port Clinton, Oak Harbor got 13 points from Brooke Tabbert and 11 more from Karder Haas. Reghan Markley added seven rebounds, while the duo of Laney Schmidt and Haylee Robinson added five boards apiece. Markley (5) and Haas (3) combined for eight steals.

Haas led her team to a crucial early season win over Genoa with a game-high 20 points, which gave the Rockets sole possession of first place in the league standings. Kendall Gaines added nine points, while Tabbert had seven, including five in the fourth quarter. In fact, that trio combined for all but two of Oak Harbor’s 16 points in the final stanza.

Cardinal Stritch (2-4, 1-0 TAAC) split a pair of games during the week, defeating New Riegel (56-45) before falling to St. Ursula (53-23).

The group of Morgan Kennedy (15), Amaya Hill (14), Erin Carbe (12), and Makayla Miltz (11) reached double-figure scoring in the win over New Riegel. Hill (20 rebounds) and Carbe (17 rebounds) finished off double-doubles. Miltz led the team with seven assists and five steals, while Hill had two rebounds.

No stats were reported for the St. Ursula game.

Waite (0-4, 0-2 City League) dropped a pair of games to Scott (52-17) and Rossford (54-28). No stats were reported for the Scott matchup, but SuRyah Quisno had 16 points against Rossford, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Jenessa Epperson added eight points overall.

Clay (0-6, 0-3 NLL) dropped a pair of games to Whitmer (57-26) and Southview (38-32) last week. Stats weren’t reported.

Northwood (1-4, 1-2 SBC) went 1-2 during the week with a win over Old Fort (32-15) along with losses to Lake (52-20) and St. Mary Central Catholic (58-28). Stats weren’t reported.
