Gibsonburg fell in its season opener on the road to Eastwood, 73-61. Aiden Morant led the Golden Bears with 23 points, while Reece Walby had 14 points and five assists. Hunter Wasserman produced 12 points and nine rebounds. It was their lone game of the week.

Eastwood opened the season with two wins over three games. The week started with a 30-point explosion from Drew Luidhardt, who guided his team to a come-from-behind 73-61 win over Gibsonburg in which the Eagles trailed at the half and after three quarters. Cam Schumaker added 16, while Brayden Luidhardt had 14.

Eastwood then suffered its first loss at Lake, 66-46. Brayden Luidhardt led Eastwood with 15 points, while Schumaker (14) and Miesmer (10) combined for 24.

The Eagles concluded the week with a 56-51 victory over Bowling Green at home. Brayden Luidhardt led all scorers with 25 points, which included five triples and 10-of-10 free throws. Miesmer added 10 points, while Drew Luidhardt had eight points and two steals. Schumaker tallied six points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Eagles opened the game on a 14-0 run.

Lake opened its season with a pair of victories, including a road win over Clyde, 66-58, in its opener, and a 66-46 win over Eastwood at home in the NBC opener.

The Flyers outscored the Fliers 17-10 in the final quarter to pull away with the win behind 19 points from Preston Snyder, 12 from Jace Ayers, and 11 apiece from Carter Behlmer and Jack Sobczak.

The win over Eastwood featured a career-high 18 points from Xavier Scott, and a season-high 18 points for Ayers, who made his second varsity start as a sophomore. The Flyers forced 21 turnovers, while also getting 11 points from Snyder, eight from Behlmer, and seven from Brandon Foster.

Oak Harbor produced a 49-36 win on the road over Fostoria in its season opener. It was their lone game of the week. Zach Hallett produced a game-high 18 points, while a balanced scoring effort saw seven others produce points. Brayden Ayres added eight, while Alex Rife and Carson Steinbrick had six points each.

Woodmore improved to 1-1 on the season with a 76-66 win in come-from-behind fashion over Edison in its lone game of the week. The Wildcats went on a 17-11 run to start the second quarter, which helped build a 32-27 lead with three minutes left, and they never trailed again. Caden Hilt led Woodmore with 19 points, including 12 in the first half. Gavin Donley added 16 points, including 10 in the second half. Ryan Maynard had 14 points, and Bradley Fetzer totaled 10. 

Genoa, which had a delayed start to the season, was slated to open their campaign Dec. 9 against Delta.

Clay improved to 2-0 on the season with a 56-33 win over Tiffin Columbian at home. Stats weren’t reported.

Waite fell to 0-2 with a loss to Rogers, 65-33, on the road. Stats weren’t reported.

Northwood dropped a pair of road games to Otsego (70-29) and Swanton (62-17). They’re now 1-2 on the season. Stats weren’t reported.

Cardinal Stritch opened its season in tough fashion with losses to Port Clinton (50-36) and Sandusky Perkins (64-46) on the road, as well as a home defeat to Lakota (68-29). Stats weren’t reported.
