The Genoa girls soccer team remained undefeated with wins over Otsego, 8-2, and Delta, 4-0, which sets up an NBC showdown with Oak Harbor on Tuesday. The trio of Ava Houghtaling, Izzy West, and Adrianna Williams each scored twice against Otsego, while Stella Rethman and Isabel Materni had one apiece. West, Williams, Houghtaling, and Sophie Keaton scored once apiece against Delta. The Comets (6-0-2, 2-0-2 NBC) face Oak Harbor in their lone match of the week.
The Oak Harbor girls soccer team had a big week, knocking off previously undefeated Woodmore, 1-0, before tying Bryan 1-1 to close the week. Against the Wildcats, which came on the road, Gabs Neiderhouse scored the game’s lone goal on a deflection off a cross from Kendall Gaines. Haylee Robinson made five saves in goal. Kaitlyn Meloche scored the lone goal for Oak Harbor in the week’s finale against Bryan directly off a corner kick, while Robinson made one save. The Rockets (7-1-1, 3-0 NBC) will travel to Genoa on Tuesday in another big matchup before hosting Edison on Thursday.
The Eastwood girls soccer team won both of its matches last week, 8-0 over Rossford and 3-1 over Ottawa Hills. Piper Sutton bagged a hat trick against Rossford, and Karissa Nelson added two of her own. Karly Wasserman, Lauren Schuerman, and Ava Kachmarik had one apiece. The group of Kenna Nelson, Karissa Nelson, Schuerman, Macy Shoemaker, Gracyn Reiter, and Emery Wensink had one assist each. In goal, Kachmarik and Teagan Lloyd made three saves apiece. Sutton added two more goals against Ottawa Hills, and Josie Appelhans had the other along with an assist. Schuerman and Katelin Russell had one assist each. Kachmarik made four saves in goal. The Eagles (5-2-2, 1-1-2 NBC) will travel to Maumee on Wednesday before concluding the week at Shawnee on Saturday.
The Lake girls soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against Maumee on the road in their lone match of the week. Macey Maguire scored the lone goal for Lake on an assist from Morgann Blandin. Serenity Cappelletty had two saves. The Flyers (2-2-3, 0-1-2 NBC) will host Otsego on Wednesday and travel to Archbold on Saturday.
The Woodmore girls soccer team was knocked off 1-0 by Oak Harbor for their first loss of the season, but rebounded with a strong 3-0 win over Perkins in a conference matchup. Kelsey Kaylor scored twice for Woodmore, while Taylor Hill added the other. Izzy Helmke registered a pair of assists, while Abbie Schmeltz made six saves in goal. The Wildcats (8-1) will travel to Port Clinton on Wednesday to conclude their week.
The Clay girls soccer team defeated Ross 8-0 in their lone match of the week. Stats were not reported. The Eagles (4-3-2, 4-0-1 NLL) will travel to Southview on Wednesday before hosting St. Ursula on Saturday.
The Northwood girls soccer team fell on the road to Bellevue and Columbian last week. Stats were not reported. The Rangers (0-9, 0-7) are slated to host Swanton on Wednesday and travel to Rossford on Saturday.
