Below is a listing of results and stats from the third week of the girls soccer season. This is for matches played through Aug. 31. Information is gathered via MaxPreps, coach email submissions and team social media accounts. A lack of individual stats listed means none of those sources provided that information.

An early second half goal from Kendall Gaines helped propel the Oak Harbor girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Eastwood in a crucial NBC matchup. Haylee Robinson got the win in goal. The Rockets (4-1, 2-0) will meet Rossford on Wednesday. The two teams are currently tied for first place in the NBC standings.

The Woodmore girls soccer team continued to roll through the early portion of their schedule, posting shutouts against Huron (5-0) and Evergreen (4-0) last week.

In the win over Huron, Izzy Helmke and Kelsey Kaylor each had two goals, while Lily Smola had the other. Emma Hahn and Taylor Hill each had one assist, and Abbie Schmeltz tallied one save in goal. Against Evergreen, Kaylor netted two more goals, while Helmke and Hill had one apiece. Helmke and Rylie Hesselbart tacked on assists, while Schmeltz and Grace Hablitzel each played in goal. Neither player had to record a save in the combined shutout.

The Wildcats (4-0, 2-0 SBC) will continue play on Wednesday against Northwood.

The Genoa girls soccer team remained undefeated with a 4-1 win over Lake and a 5-1 win over Van Buren last week.

In the NBC win over the Flyers, Malani Smith’s first-half goal helped the Comets take a 1-1 tie into the half before Genoa peppered Lake with three goals over the final 12 minutes for the win. Adrianna Williams tallied two of those, while Ava Houghtaling had the final one. All three came in a four minute span. Against Van Buren, Genoa got first-half goals from Houghtaling and Smith for a 2-1 lead at the break before Tatum Szych, Houghtaling and Williams each scored in the second half.

The Comets (4-0-1, 1-0-1 NBC) will face Maumee on Wednesday.

The Eastwood girls soccer team went 1-1 on the week, falling 1-0 in a league matchup against Oak Harbor before rebounding with an 8-0 win over Delta.

Piper Sutton recorded a hat trick in the victory against the Panthers, while Karissa Nelson added two. The other three goals came from the trio of Karly Wasserman, Lauren Schuerman and Gracyn Reiter. Five players recorded one assist, including Wasserman, Grace Meter, Nelson, Schuerman, and Macy Shoemaker. Ava Kachmarik made five saves in goal. Eastwood (3-1-1, 0-1-1 NBC) has a big conference game against Lake on Wednesday.

In their lone game of the week, the Lake girls soccer team was defeated 4-1 by Genoa in an NBC matchup. Kaydence Eckenrode scored the lone tally for the Flyers, while Serenity Cappelletty had 10 saves in goal. Lake (1-2-1, 0-1 NBC) had a key league meeting with Eastwood on Wednesday.

The Clay girls soccer team (1-2-2, 1-1-1 NLL) defeated Napoleon 2-0 before falling to Amherst Steele 3-1 last week. The Northwood girls soccer team (0-6) fell to Vermillion in their lone match of the week. Neither team reported results or stats.
