Genoa, Gibsonburg, Lake, Stritch combine for 10-0 record

This roundup is for games played between Feb. 9-15.

Genoa (20-0, 12-0 NBC) remained undefeated with wins over Eastwood (58-42), Maumee (62-53), and Evergreen (67-54) on the road.

The victory over Eastwood included a heavy dose of Walter Plantz, who produced a game-high 26 points. Ryan Routson added 13 points, including 11 in the second half, and Myles Mollenhauer contributed 10 points. Jax Magnone (6) and Jacob Woollard (3) totaled nine, as well.

Plantz continued a big week with a game-high 25 points against Maumee. Magnone added 12 points, while Routson had 10. Ty Asman (6), Mollenhauer (5), and Logan Routson (4) rounded out the scoring.

Magnone exploded for a season-best 25 points against Evergreen, while Plantz added 21. Ryan Routson (9), Mollenhauer (7), and Asman (5) rounded out the scoring.

Gibsonburg (18-2, 12-1 SBC) moved its winning streak to 17 straight with wins over Woodmore (69-41) and New Riegel (61-40).

Aiden Morant led the Golden Bears in scoring against Woodmore with 21 points, four steals, three rebounds, and two blocks. Xander Zimmerman added 11 points in 15 minutes, while Luke Foster (9), Hunter Wasserman (8), Reece Walby (8), and Chuy Rodriguez (7) combined for 32 points. Rodriguez (8) and Wasserman (7) combined for 15 rebounds, while Walby led in assists with five and added four steals.

The win over New Riegel featured a team-best 19 points from Walby, while Morant (15) and Zimmerman (10) combined for 25 points. Foster (5) and Rodriguez (2) rounded out the scoring. The Golden Bears shot 6-of-15, or 40 percent, from 3-point range as a team.

Lake (16-3, 9-3 NBC) added two more victories during the week, defeating Rossford (69-39) and Fostoria (90-68).

Preston Snyder led the scoring against Rossford with 19 points, while Xavier Scott (13) and Carter Behlmer (11) added 24 combined. Jace Ayers chipped in eight points, while the duo of Jack Sobczak and Hayden Salsbury added five apiece.

Behlmer poured in a game-high 22 points against Fostoria. Scott scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, while Sobczak and Ayers added 12 apiece. Tyce Brown (4) and Andrew Ramirez (2) combined for six to round out the scoring.

Cardinal Stritch (13-9, 6-2 TAAC) pushed its winning streak to five straight and eight of nine with victories over WCA (77-40), SJCC (82-24), and Toledo Christian (62-45).

King Wilson Jr. scored 25 of his game-high 29 points in the first half of the win over WCA. Xavier Blackman added 18 points, while Erick Graham (12) and Dennis Clark (11) also reached double figures. Rasean Gordon scored all seven of his points in the second half.

Blackman led all scorers against SJCC with 25, while Clark added 20, including 16 in the second half. Wilson Jr. contributed 16 points, and Graham had 11.

Blackman (21) and Graham (19) combined for 40 points in the win over Toledo Christian, while Clark added 13.

Clay (15-5, 9-2 NLL) split a pair of games during the week, defeating Napoleon (67-39) before falling to Perrysburg (71-39).

Grant Oberdick produced a game-high 24 points in the win over Napoleon. Aiden Berryman added 10 points, while the group of Liam Cody (8), Max Morrison (7), Quimari Buffaloe (6), and Carson Vincent (6) combined for 27 points.

No stats were reported for the Perrysburg game.

Eastwood (12-7, 7-5 NBC) split a pair of games, falling to Genoa (58-42) before responding with a win over Otsego (75-59).

Cam Schumaker and Logan Miesmer had eight points apiece against Genoa, while the brother combo of Drew and Brayden Luidhardt had seven apiece. Ben Buehler added four points. Brayden Luidhardt had a team-best six rebounds, while he also joined Max Chaffee with three assists each.

Schumaker shot 9-of-12 from the field for 22 points, while adding six rebounds and three steals against Otsego. Brayden Luidhardt recorded a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Drew Luidhardt totaled 17 points and a team-best six assists, while Buehler added 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Woodmore (9-12, 7-7 SBC) opened the week with a win over Danbury (67-49) before falling to Gibsonburg (69-41) and Hopewell-Loudon (52-42).

Despite Danbury scoring the game’s first 14 points and leading 21-5 through one quarter, Woodmore fought back for a win behind 16 points from Carson Slates and 12 from Camdyn Schwartz. Gavin Donley scored all 12 of his points from long distance as the Wildcats outscored Danbury 62-28 over the final three quarters, including a 24-5 second quarter advantage.

Gibsonburg scored the first 14 points and 25 of the first 27, which included a 25-2 lead after one quarter. Donley led the Wildcats with eight points.

Slates poured in 29 points against Hopewell-Loudon and had a stretch in the middle of the game where he had 20 of his team’s 22 points.

Oak Harbor (8-13, 5-8 NBC) opened the week with a loss to Otsego (62-53) before defeating Rossford (52-33) and falling to Vermilion (66-56).

Zach Hallett poured in a game-high 24 points against Otsego, while Braxtin Witt added 10 and Carson Steinbrick had nine. Hallett had 15 of his points from long distance, and Steinbrick had all of his from the 3-point range as the Rockets made 10 as a team.

Brayden Ayres had a game-best 17 points against Rossford. Hallett (7), Garret Perkins (7), Zayne Brooks (6), Alex Rife (5), Witt (4), Steinbrick (3), and Braden Binns (3) rounded out the scoring.

Hallett poured in a game-high 31 points on a trio of 3-pointers against Vermilion. Ayres added 12 points, while Steinbrick (6), Witt (4) and Brooks (3) combined for seven points.

Northwood (3-18, 2-12 SBC) fell to St. Mary Central Catholic (69-36) and Old Fort (74-21). Stats weren’t reported.

Waite (2-16, 0-6 City League) fell to Norwalk (69-20) in its lone game of the week. Stats weren’t reported.
