The Oak Harbor girls tennis team finished second on four of five courts to earn a second place team finish in the inaugural Northern Buckeye Conference girls tennis championship on Sept. 27 at Oak Harbor High School.

Maumee claimed the title with 50 points, led by NBC player of the year Hilari Miko, who took home the title in first singles. Oak Harbor’s Emma Bradbury finished second behind Miko, ahead of Rossford’s Lexi Klocko and Fostoria’s Briar Shaver, as the Rockets earned 28 points.

Fostoria and Rossford finished third and fourth, respectively, with 15 and 12 points.

Oak Harbor’s Brooklyn Garcia finished fourth in second singles, which was won by Maumee’s Laci Winckowski. In third singles, the Rockets added another second place finish from Dakota Gluth, who came in just behind Maumee’s Lily Hucke.

At first doubles, Oak Harbor’s Isabel Hand and Sam Benner captured second place, while Maumee’s Mckayla Hayes and Tylee Alvarez nabbed first place. Those schools also finished in the same order for second doubles as Oak Harbor’s Natalia Wagner and Ava Sautter came in just behind Maumee’s Lily Jones and Sophia Pan.
