The Oak Harbor girls soccer team pushed its unbeaten streak to seven straight last week with an 8-0 win over Edison and a 1-1 tie in an NBC tilt with Genoa.
Kaitlyn Meloche went back post directly off a free kick in the first half as Oak Harbor battled to a tie against Genoa, which included seven saves from Haylee Robinson in goal. Robinson needed just two saves in an easy win over Edison, which included a hat trick from Meloche. Others to score included: Hayley Fallgren, Kyndall Kaiser, Claire Blausey, Skyler Schultz, and Kennedy Slates. Meloche also added three assists in her huge performance, while Emma Lewis, Kaiser, Blausey, and Cailin Randolph had one helper apiece.
The Rockets (8-1-3, 3-0-1 NBC) are slated to face Ottawa Hills and Lake this week.
The Woodmore girls soccer team picked up three shutout victories last week, toppling Perkins 3-0, Port Clinton 7-0, and Sandusky 11-0.
Kelsey Kaylor scored twice for Woodmore against Perkins, while Taylor Hill added the other. Izzy Helmke registered a pair of assists, while Abbie Schmeltz made six saves in goal. Kaylor added a hat trick against Port Clinton, while Helmke, Bailey Meggitt, Emma Hahn, and Karli Heins had one goal each. The five assists came evenly from Kaylor, Helmke, Rylie Hesselbart, Wren Lewis, and Willow Lewis. The duo of Schmeltz (2) and Grace Hablitzel (1) combined for three saves. Kaylor led the way again offensively against Sandusky with four goals, while several others had one each, including: Willow Lewis, Schmeltz, Lexi Rohrbacher, Hill, Hesselbart, Lily Smola, and Wren Lewis. Heins (3), Hahn (2), and Helmke (2) combined for seven assists, while Schmeltz, Camille Strong, Keira Travis, Willow Lewis, and Hill had one each. The duo of Schmeltz and Hablitzel, who each played one half, didn’t have to make a save.
The Wildcats (10-1, 7-0 SBC) are back in action this week against Vermilion and Archbold.
The Eastwood girls soccer team produced a pair of shutout victories over Maumee and Shawnee last week.
In the 4-0 win over Maumee, Eastwood pulled away with three second half goals with Piper Sutton, Kenna Nelson, Lauren Schuerman, and Karissa Nelson scoring. Kennedy Ameling (2), Josie Appelhans, and Katelin Russell had at least one assist apiece, while Ava Kachmarik had three saves in goal. In a 5-0 win over Shawnee, Sutton, Ameling, Appelhans, Gracyn Reiter, and Emery Wensink had one goal apiece, while Karissa Nelson (2), Karly Wasserman, Sutton, and Appelhans had the assists. Kachmarik made four saves.
The Eagles (7-2-2, 2-1-2 NBC) are slated to face Notre Dame and Port Clinton in a pair of non-league tilts this week.
The Genoa girls soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie against Oak Harbor last week while remaining undefeated. Tatum Szych scored the lone goal for the Comets (7-0-3, 2-0-3 NBC), who will be back in action this week against Wauseon and Rossford.
The Lake girls soccer team went 1-1 last week with a 7-1 win over Otsego, which preceded a shutout loss to Archbold.
Against Otsego, Lake got a pair of goals each from Sagan Schroyer and Brooke Wiley, along with one apiece from Macey Maguire, Morgann Blandin, and Kaydence Eckenrode. Blandin and Allie Byington each had two assists, while Paige Allen and Tessa Heckman had one apiece. Serenity Cappelletty had 17 saves in goal for Lake in the loss to Archbold.
The Flyers (4-3-3, 1-1-2 NBC) are slated to face Oak Harbor and Delta this week.
The Clay girls soccer team went 2-1 last week with wins over Bowling Green and Southview, which preceded a loss to St. Ursula. Stats were not reported for any of the matches. The Eagles (5-4-2, 5-0-1 NLL) are slated to face Napoleon this week.
The Northwood girls soccer team dropped matches to Columbian, Swanton, and Rossford last week. No stats were reported. The Rangers (0-13, 0-8 SBC) will be back in action against Huron and Clyde this week.
