Library to welcome Paterson Joseph
Registration is still open to meet actor and author Paterson Joseph at the Wood County District Public Library.
Joseph will discuss his work and his debut novel, “The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho, Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Atrium at Bowling Green Library, 251 N. Main St.
A beloved British actor and writer, Joseph has been on “Vigil,” “Naughts + Crosses,” “Wonka” and Boat Story, and has also starred in “The Leftovers” and “Law & Order UK.”
“The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho” is a story that begins on a slave ship in the Atlantic and ends at the center of London life. It is an immersive tale of adventure, artistry, romance and freedom set in 18th-century England and based on the true story of the first Black person to vote in Britain, who led the fight to end slavery.
Books will be available for purchase for $20, payable by cash or check made out to the WCDPL Friends of the Library. He will sign books after the presentation.

Board of Elections to meet
The Ottawa County Board of Elections will meet Monday, April 14, at 10 a.m. for a regular board meeting and to address any other business that comes before them.
The meeting will be held at the Board of Elections office located at 8444 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor, in the Veterans Memorial Building.

Tenant Tuesday Housing Clinic set
Registration is open for the City of Toledo’s next Tenant Tuesday Housing Clinic, which will be held for Tuesday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Toledo Lucas County Main Library.
The community event provides legal assistance to tenants facing a wide range of housing concerns. It is a collaborative effort among the City of Toledo, Legal Aid of Western Ohio (LAWO), the Fair Housing Center, Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE), the Toledo Bar Association, and the University of Toledo Law School Advocacy Clinic.
Each attendee can meet with an attorney for about 20 minutes. Legal experts are available to offer advice on lease reviews, rent escrow, housing conditions, eviction records and landlord-related concerns. Attendees are asked to bring a copy of their lease.
Registration closes on Tuesday, April 22. Once registered, attendees will be contacted with their specific appointment time.

Toledo Toy Show
The New Toledo Toy Show is back this spring, bringing joy, nostalgia, and excitement for all ages. Join us Saturday, April 19, at the TOCA Soccer & Sports Center, 10020 S. Compass Dr. in Rossford – just behind Meijer on SR 20. The center offers plenty of free parking. Concessions will be available.
The show will feature more than 250 tables of collectible, vintage and pop culture toys. Organizers expect the hottest collectibles for spring to be Pokémon cards, Promo Cars, dolls and miniatures, movie figures, action figures, comics, games and more.
