Our dear sister in Christ, Theresa C. People, age 79, went to be with her Lord, May 7, 2026.
Theresa (Terri), loved her Lord and her Catholic faith. This kept her strong during hard times in life. She graduated from Genoa high school, 1964. She moved to Minnesota where she worked for US Foods, 10 to 12 years. Prior to this, she worked for a sign company in Chicago.
Terri was an avid reader and loved to garden. She also loved to bake and cook. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and her beloved dog Boomer.
Terri leaves behind her husband, Colvert E. People, daughter, Julie Clay (Maurice), son, Patrick Wheatley (Rhonda), and grandchildren, Alyssa, Isaiah, Kiarra and Jordan. Also siblings, Lana Aldrich (Jim), Mary Younker, Mark Floro (Stephanie), Jessica Hineline (Mike).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Aggie Floro and brother John.
She will be coming home to Genoa and a Mass will be at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial in Clay-Genoa Cemetary at a later date.
