Patricia Jane Foster, 90 entered the gates of heaven on September 11th, 2025 at Majestic Care Center in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born November 26, 1934 to Jewell and Betty Hoyer in Pennsylvania. The family later moved to Fostoria Ohio where Pat met Richard E. Foster at a young age and they married October 27, 1951.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Pat dedicated her life to raising her five children. She created a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Pat was espe-cially known for her homemade beef and noodles — a family favorite that became legendary among friends and visitors alike.

At age 52, when her youngest daughter Nicole applied for a job at The An-dersons General Store in Maumee, Pat jokingly said she would apply too. She wasn’t kidding. That day marked the beginning of a new chapter, as she began her first and only job outside the home—serving as a beloved greeter at The Andersons for 28 years. Pat had a gift for connecting with people, and over time became a familiar and friendly face to countless customers. Even after retirement, she was often recognized by those who remembered her kindness. One of her favorite memories was when Dan Anderson would bring his eight young children into the store, where they’d help round up carts, stock shelves, or simply chat with her. Dan fondly remembers her as “the perfect greeter and a fabulous person.”

Family was the true joy of Pat’s life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense pride and happiness. She especially en-joyed attending their many sporting events throughout the years. Even as her memory declined, she never lost touch with the love she held for each of them.

Pat is survived by her children Deborah Cannon (Chuck, Sylvania, OH), Brenda Huprich (Dennis, Winchester, TN) Michael “Mick” Foster (Nancy, Luckey, OH) and Nicole Swank (Rick, Swanton, OH). Grandchildren, Alan Huprich (Javier), Angie Blum (Eric), Tanya Lederman (Derek), Brian Cannon, Christine Rutherford (Eric), Whitney Foster, Carter Swank (Kailey) and Garrett Swank. Great grandchildren Maya and Reade Blum, Braylen Lederman, and Hayes and Eli Rutherford. Also surviving are siblings Jo Bartholomew (Jerome, ID) and Jon Hoyer (Diane, Twin Falls, ID) and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, her brothers Ray and Richard Hoyer and her son Richard W. Foster.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Parkcliffe Memory Care Community, Majestic Care Center, Hospice of Northwest Ohio and to Ohioans Home Health Care for their compassionate care.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Ohioans Home Health Care in Perrysburg, OH or to Salem Grace Lutheran church in Luckey, OH.
