        Distinguished alumni

Carol Molnar is in her 16th year as president of the OCS Board of Education. A retired elementary math teacher in OCS for 24 years, she has served as president of the NW District of the Ohio School Boards Association and has served on its executive committee for 15 years.

She was one of five board members from the state named to the All-Ohio School Board in 2020 and has earned OSBA's highest designation – Master Board Member.

She was inducted into the CHS Career Tech HOF in 2022 for her support of the program.

Molnar’s long tenure on the OCS Board of Education reflects the respect she has earned throughout the Oregon community. Despite differing priorities among board members, her colleagues have repeatedly selected her as president in recognition of her steady leadership.

Peers say she has the ability to remain neutral when needed while also standing firm when necessary, exemplifying a care for what is best for the children of the district.

Molnar not only loads by example, but also through her philanthropy. More than 30 years ago, she established a scholarship for a Clay student pursuing a career in medicine and has continued to fund it with additional resources. She was also a lead donor for the Performing Arts Studio renovation, as well as a donor to Limelighters, the band, Frost Fest, the Bird Cage Ball, and every school in the district.

Her legacy will live on through the countless students, families, and community members impacted by her leadership, generosity, and commitment to Oregon City Schools.

  • Hired as an electrical project engineer by the SSOE Group, Don Warner rose to become principal shareholder and vice president of the firm within 20 years. By the time he retired, SSOE had become the largest architectural and engineering firm in Northwest Ohio and an international force in the field.

He spearheaded Honda’s first international projects, and led many projects for Fortune 500 companies and global firms.

His accomplishments include being named UT’s Distinguished Alumnus in 2001 and Toledo Area Engineer of the Year in 2008.

Prior to joining SSOE, he served as head production manager for UT's Savage Arena, working on concerts for Elvis, Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, and Elton John.

Over the years, Warner rose through the ranks with the UT Alumni Association, serving as international president, which represents close to 200,000 graduates. He served as member Of the UT College of Medicine Advisory Council, provides direction to the college regarding college operations and medical research. In addition, he serves on the UT Foundation’s Board Development Committee and the UT College of Engineering.

A dedicated philanthropist, Warner is a major supporter, not only of UT, but also of the Toledo Zoo and Oregon City Schools. His 2022 gift to OCS funded the technology infrastructure for the recording studio in the Carol Ann Molnar Performing Arts Center,

His lasting legacy is the belief that success matters most when it is shared with others.
