To the editor: Agree to disagree

To the Editor: Most of us can disagree with friends and still remain friends. We all have our reasons for voting the way we do. But if we are to criticize we should be specific.

Calling someone a name like "idiot" or another general name does not explain one's disagreement. This does nothing but foster hate.

Many people wanted some change to help the climate. Elon Musk created the Tesla company, which builds electric cars. He should be lauded by those who are really concerned about the climate. Now, because they disagree with his proposals to point out waste in the government, he has become their enemy.

Musk just helped two stranded astronauts return home after being stranded in space, and he still builds electric cars. Hatred can never be satisfied.

Of the three things aforementioned, which one is bad for the country? Pointing out waste, building electric cars or saving people stranded in space?

I'm perplexed!

EDITOR'S NOTE: Elon Musk did not create the Tesla Company.  The company was co-founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning in 2003. Musk then invested heavily in the company, became chairman of the board in 2004 and eventually was named CEO in 2008.
