Penta students inducted into National Technical Honor Society

Posted

Severa area students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony held Feb. 19 at the school, located in Perrysburg.

This year, 33 students were honored for their career-technical achievements.

The NTHS is similar to the National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools, where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in the NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 overall grade point average. In addition, inductees must meet the four core objectives of NTHS––career development, leadership, service and recognition opportunities.

The NTHS has been in existence for students at Penta since 2013. It was established as an additional way to recognize student achievement and leadership. Students who are members of the NTHS at Penta are also eligible for induction into the National Honor Society at their member school.

Local students who were selected for induction into the 2026 NTHS at Penta include:

  • Addison Coutcher (Oak Harbor), Medical Technologies Academy.
  • Cadance Ellenburg (Oak Harbor), Dental Assistant.
  • TaeVe'ion Greene (Northwood), Early Childhood Education.
  • Iris Hosey (Lake), Medical Technologies Academy.
  • Dylan Kemley (Genoa), Information Technologies Academy.
  • Dierk Knitz (Eastwood), Sophomore Exploratory.
  • Emily Reichow (Northwood), Sophomore Exploratory.
  • Brett Reichow (Northwood), Sophomore Exploratory.
  • Olivia Sandwisch (Eastwood), Cosmetology.
  • Frank Swails (Lake), Heating & Air Conditioning Technology.

Each NTHS inductee received a membership certificate, pin, window decal, NTHS spirit wear and a white tassel to be worn at graduation. Senior inductees will also receive purple and silver cords and a seal for their diploma at graduation.

The NTHS was founded in 1984 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Today, it serves more than 1.2 million students across the United States.
