Each June 21, wildlife lovers celebrate the tallest animal in the world on the longest day of the year. African Safari Wildlife Park is observing World Giraffe Day with a weekend of activities celebrating one of the park's most beloved animals.
On Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, park guests can pose at a special World Giraffe Day photo frame in front of the giraffe habitat in the Walk-Thru Safari.
On the same dates, the park will donate 25 percent of the revenue from giraffe feedings in the Walk-Thru Safari to Giraffe Conservation Foundation. This nonprofit organization works across Africa to save giraffes through strategy development, satellite tracking, genetic analysis and education.
“Giraffes have been a part of our park since the very beginning,” said park Vice President Elizabeth Hunt. “We'll never turn down the chance to share our love of these gentle giants with our guests, and we look forward to celebrating World Giraffe Day with them.”
African Safari Wildlife Park is located at 267 S. Lightner Rd. in Port Clinton. Visit AfricanSafariWildlifePark.com for more details.
