Ozobots, Dash Robots and Ruko Robots … oh my!

Posted

This year, Lake Schools STEM/Technology teacher Monica Myerholtz received a grant to bring new technology into her classrooms—robots.

Thanks to the grant, she was able to purchase Ozobots, Dash Robots and Ruko Robots for students to explore.

“Third graders have jumped right in, learning how to code our new Ozobots.” She said. “They’ve experimented with commands to control speed, direction, and motion – ‘Tornado mode is definitely a class favorite.’”

As part of a cross-curricular project, the students used their coding skills to design a setting for a fairy tale they read in homeroom, then programmed their Ozobot to travel through the story.

Second graders and kindergartners will begin exploring the Dash and Ruko robots soon.
