Ottawa County voter registration deadline and absentee voting hours announced

The closing date for new voter registrations, address changes and name changes for Ottawa County residents for the 2026 November General Election is Oct. 5.

Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Board of Elections will be open extended hours Monday, Oct. 5 until 9 p.m. The office is located at 8444 West State Route 163, Oak Harbor.

New registrations, address changes and name changes may be made at any public library, any Bureau of Motor Vehicles office, the Ottawa County Health Department and at the Ottawa County Courthouse, in the Clerk of Courts Title Department or the Treasurer’s office. Change of address may be completed online at VoteOhio.gov.

Absentee in-person voting begins Oct. 6 at 8 a.m. and ends Sunday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office.

Absentee hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24 for the period of Oct. 6-24. From Oct. 26 through Nov. 1, the hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 28-30, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 1.
