The Humane Society of Ottawa County held their annual general election on Jan. 7, welcoming back Anne Koebel and Barb Muller to the board of directors while also welcoming two new members, Emil Mechel and Katrina Mechel. They will each serve two-year terms.

Elections were also held for this year’s officers. Marty Mortus will serve as president, Jen Balduff will be vice president, Anne Koebel will be treasurer, and Megan Ellis will be secretary.

The board also voted to increase the maximum number of people on the board of directors to 15. The humane society’s board of directors will meet the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Ida Rupp Public Library, located at 310 Madison St. in Port Clinton. Meetings are open to the public.
