The Oregon Fire and Rescue department hosted a pinning ceremony for nine new full-time first responders on April 22 at Station 41 on S. Wynn Rd. Fire chief Clayton O’Brien was joined by families, the city’s staff including mayor Steven Salander, city council members, and members of the community. O’Brien opened the ceremony with the pledge of allegiance followed by words about each firefighter. Salander recited oaths for the members, officially swearing in all nine new hires. Members were provided the privilege to select who would pin their assigned badge of duty. The new hires include Lucas Wark, Seth Gray, Tyler Orns, Kory Schaefer, Tyler Dillon, Ross Welling, Mykel Jahna, Michael Roberts, and Jaxon Tiller.
