The City of Toledo will accept Christmas trees for recycling through Friday, Jan. 30.
Locally, trees may be dropped off at Ravine II Park, 1600 Mott Ave., Toledo.
Collected trees will be ground into mulch by forestry crews. This program is open to the public and provides a convenient way to recycle Christmas trees after the holidays.

Patrons of the Harris-Elmore Public Library and Genoa Branch Library will experience streaming changes to the Rokus available for check out.
After several months of experiencing login issues with Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu due to the restriction of multiple households to view simultaneously and the subscription to leave library grounds to view, the Harris-Elmore Public Library has decided to cancel its subscriptions to the three streaming services.
Patrons will be unable to access the streaming services beginning in 2026. In 2027, HBO Max may be affected by this issue when it completes its transition to Netflix, however, it will still be available in 2026.
“We hope patrons can still enjoy the Rokus and the remaining streaming services,” Harris-Elmore Public Library Director Jennifer Fording said. “It was a difficult decision, but was ultimately the best choice moving forward.”

When the United States entered World War I, Mary Miller Hayes went to France with the American Red Cross and used her skills as a nurse to tend to the troops.
Hayes, wife of Hayes Presidential Library & Museums’ co-founder Webb C. Hayes, was a local philanthropist who helped to found what is today ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont and also established a nursing school there.
Additionally, she helped to run the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, then known as the Hayes Memorial.
To continue her legacy of helping others, Hayes Presidential has teamed up with the Red Cross to have a blood drive Sunday, Jan. 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hayes Presidential museum auditorium.
Those who donate will receive a $15 gift card to Amazon and be entered into raffles for a Hayes Presidential membership and gift baskets.
