Mercy-St. Charles donates equipment to Clay Med Tech program

Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital is partnering with Clay High School’s Medical Technologies (Med Tech) program after reaching out to assess potential equipment and supply needs within the lab.

Following a tour of the Med Tech classroom, several opportunities were identified where Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital could contribute used medical equipment and supplies to enhance student learning.

As a result, the program received five medical beds with mattresses, six overbed tables, six IV poles, and two stretchers. The donated equipment has an estimated fair market value of $36,950 and will significantly enhance the hands-on learning environment for students.

“We are happy to have the opportunity to support the growth and development of future healthcare workers in our community. The equipment will give students hands-on experience, inspire their passion for medicine and allow them to use equipment just like they would encounter in their future healthcare careers,”  said Craig Albers, president of Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital.

“The Career Tech department is incredibly grateful for our partnership with Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital,” said Becci Bihn, Director of Career Technologies at Clay High School. “Craig Albers has been a strong supporter of Career Tech at Oregon City Schools, particularly our Medical Technologies program. His commitment to enhancing our equipment ensures our Med Tech program remains state-of-the-art.”
