The Lake Township trustees voted on March 3 to issue a 12-month moratorium on data centers within their jurisdiction in response to a Facebook post on the “Lake Township Voice” and “AW Area Community Response Awareness Group” pages that provided a link to a potential data center site for sale in the township.
The link contained an eight-page PDF advertising a property for sale at 0 Tracy Road, which is located at the corner of Latcha and Tracy for a potential data center site. The property resides in Lake Township with a Walbridge mailing address.
JLL Company, or Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated, appears to be the company that produced the PDF based on the design and logos. The Press contacted Brian Marsh, who is listed at the bottom of the PDF, but had to leave a voicemail. We haven’t received a response yet.
In fact, none of the four people listed at the bottom of the PDF — Marsh, Joe Davis, Josh Weithman, and Jason Bell — can be found on the company’s website’s corporate directory. JLL, which is described as a “leading global real estate services and investment management firm,” also does not have a website listing for the property. The website in general has a lot of AI-generated content and stock photography.
A disclaimer in tiny, fine print at the bottom of the JLL PDF read:
“Although information has been obtained from sources deemed reliable, neither Owner nor JLL makes any guarantees, warranties or representations, express or implied, as to the completeness or accuracy as to the information contained herein. Any projections, opinions, assumptions or estimates used are for example only. There may be differences between projected and actual results, and those differences may be material. The Property may be withdrawn without notice. Neither Owner nor JLL accepts any liability for any loss or damage suffered by any party resulting from reliance on this information. If the recipient of this information has signed a confidentiality agreement regarding this matter, this information is subject to the terms of that agreement.”
Adding further confusion, there is also a 0 Tracy Road property listing in Northwood and Perrysburg, which are separate and unrelated properties to the Lake Township site.
The Wood County Auditor’s website lists the Lake Township property last being sold in Aug. 29, 2023 to grantee, 0 Tracy Rd. LLC., although a real estate transfer in July 2025 listed for 0 Tracy Road as being transferred from Daniel and Marsha Wolf to Gulfstream Properties LLC for $546,780. Based on a Google search, there is a Gulfstream Development company that describes itself as “Northwest Ohio’s only Active Lifestyle Developer specializing in communities for the 55+ market featuring enjoyable amenities.”
Thus, there is still a lot of confusion over who actually owns the property, and in a larger sense who exactly created the PDF. At 75 acres, it’s also unsure whether it’s even large enough for a data center site.
Lake Township trustee Kurt Schwamberger also wasn’t able to find more specific details, which made it frustrating as he couldn’t fully answer citizen questions on the topic.
“That was the weird thing about all of it,” he said. “We didn’t know if someone generated it. It was almost like someone made something up just to do it. It’s real different. That’s why we couldn’t really answer on anything.
“We couldn’t find it on a website. We didn’t have anything to go on.”
Road levy
Trustees also announced that they will have a renewal of the township’s road levy on the ballot in May. Two town hall meetings on the levy will be held on April 21 and 23 at 7 p.m. in the township’s administration building.
Next meeting
Lake Township trustees will meet next on March 17 at 6 p.m. The meetings are usually the first and third Tuesday of each month at the same time.
