Genoa Retirement Village resident ‘Lives A Dream’ at Millbury Classics

Posted

Recently, a Genoa Retirement Village resident got a chance to “Live A Dream” and cruise back in time at a local vintage car and truck museum.

Michael C. (last name omitted due to privacy) loved working on cars growing up, boasting an extensive knowledge about everything that has to do with muscle cars.

The Retirement Village staff had previously set up a few outings for residents to enjoy the Millbury Classics museum, but something always seemed to get in the way of Michael attending, causing him to be “super bummed” that he couldn’t go.

On June 13, Life Enrichment Director Kaylei Ruffing arranged to surprise Michael with the chance to spend a whole afternoon exploring the museum, which is located at 26929 Cummings Rd., and features more than 90 cars and trucks on display, including some movie cars.

Throughout his visit, Michael shared memories and trivia, and even quizzed Ruffing on her knowledge of muscle cars.

“It was such a joy watching Michael light up talking about each car. Memories really do last a lifetime,” Ruffing said.
