Ohio Pirate Con will set sail July 26 and 27 at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds. North St. Parking Lot area, in Fremont.
The new, immersive event is dedicated to all things pirate, featuring a treasure trove of entertainment and activities for pirates of all ages, from the most seasoned buccaneers to the tiniest landlubbers.

‘The Art of Animal Camouflage’
Discover the fascinating world of animal camouflage, and coloration in nature with the Walbridge Library and Jamie Forbush, of Nature’s Nursery, on Tuesday, July 15, at 2 p.m.
Attendees will explore how certain colors and patterns help creatures blend into their surroundings to hide from predators or sneak up on prey.

Friendship Day Motorcycle Show
Friends of Lake Township Parks will present Friendship Day Motorcycle Show Sunday, July 20, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Friendship Park, corner of Cummings Road and SR 795, Lake Township.
Registration, which will be held the day of the show, is $5 per motorcycle and $10 per trailer,
There will also be food trucks and a “Touch a Truck” event featuring emergency vehicles.
Prior to the motorcycle show, breakfast will be available in the Township Hall from 8-11 a.m. at a cost of $10 per adults and $5 for children under 10 years old. Proceeds will benefit the Fireman’s Memorial.
Summer Concert Series
The 2025 Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union Summer Concert Series will kick of July 20, when the Ottawa County Bluegrass Band will perform.
The concerts will take place Sundays July 20-Aug. 17 in front of the Log Cabin at Kraemer Park on the corner of Church and Main streets, across from the Post Office. Parking is available around the park, around and behind the library on Main Street and at the Municipal Building.

The Oak Harbor Log Cabin Committee is a volunteer group that plans and organizes concerts, which are offered free of charge thanks to the Endowment Trust Fund of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Donations will be accepted to further the educational programs offered throughout the year and to help with the historical preservation of the cabin.
‘Toledo Teen Town Reunion
The East Toledo Historical Society invites grandparents, parents and children to the “Toledo Teen Town Reunion” Thursday, July 24, from 6-9 p.m. at 1001 White St., Toledo.
Admission to the event is a nostalgic 25 cents. DJ Jerry Eversman will play an eclectic mix of music from the `50s, `60a and `70s in the Navarre Park Shelterhouse. The reunion will include a Twist Contest, a Limbo Contest and raffle baskets. BYO non-alcoholic beverages.
Attendees are invited to brig old photos and sign the guest book, which will be put into a time capsule.
Ladies Formal Tea
Registration is open for Oregon-Jerusalem Historical Society’s annual Ladies Formal Tea, which will be held Sept. 11 and again Sept. 16 from noon-2 p.m. at the Brandville School Museum in Oregon.
Meet and learn the story of the late Joan Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was an American lawyer and an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1993-2020.

‘Soil to Sky’ Art Show
The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is hosting artists Debra Sue Solecki, Scott Brennan and Derek Brennan for their exhibit, “Soil to Sky,” through Aug. 3 at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry St., Port Clinton.
Solecki grew up on the shores of Lake Erie and has always drawn artistic inspiration from the natural environment. A veteran art educator and a fine artist, she uses a variety of media to represent her favorite subjects, such as dragonflies, lotus, mushrooms and more.
Brennan was born and raised in Sandusky and now resides in Genoa. As a child, he found pleasure in drawing. One of his earliest memories was of art his mother brought home from an art class in college. He works in the construction industry and primarily practices a cubism, abstract, surrealism, impressionism and collage style of art. Brennan is a Cleveland-based artist whose journey began in 2007 as a theme park caricaturist. His passion for drawing led him to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University, specializing in encaustic painting. In 2016, he created his first mural and since then, he has completed nearly 50 murals, primarily throughout the Cleveland area.
