The Ohio Department of Health has found seven positive mosquito pools for West Nile virus in Ottawa County including areas near Marblehead and Genoa. There are no human cases reported at this time.

The Lake Township Police Department is sponsoring a National Night Out event Aug. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the township administration building, 27975 Cummings Rd.

They may be retired but the legacy of three veteran members of the Lake Township Volunteer Fire Department will still be present on emergency runs, Fire chief Barrett Dorner said in recognizing the trio recently.

The Lindsey Sunflower & Homecoming Festival, was held July 29 at Wendelle Miller Park and featured a 5K race, kids’ games, live entertainment, craft vendors, cake walk, Baby Royalty and Sunflower Contests and more.
