Lake Twp. – Franciso Salazar, Jr., 34, Fremont, was charged with violating a protection order Oct. 23 after he allegedly made contact with his ex-wife at a township residence, police said.

Recent rain storms have forced workers at the former Brush Beryllium site to transport water off-site while the remediation project continues.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is excavating the site and removing soil contaminated with beryllium, lead, radium thorium and uranium.
