The Northwest Ohio Conservative Coalition sponsored a rally May 16, offering members a chance to voice their opinion on the extensive closing of schools and private businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. The Free Ohio Now protest was held along Navarre Avenue in Oregon.

Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters has recused himself from an assault case involving Matt Damschroder, the former mayor of Elmore.
In a court filing, the judge writes he has requested the Ohio Supreme Court appoint a visiting judge to hear the case.

A court brief filed by legal counsel for Mark Stahl, a battalion chief with the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, contends the decision to discipline him by the district board of trustees wasn’t supported by a “preponderance of substantial, reliable and probative evidence.”
