The Oregon Board of Education on Thursday, Oct. 24, passed a resolution by a vote of 4-1 to put a 4.95 mill levy on the March 17, 2020 ballot. The board must vote again in December to make it official.
Oregon City Council on Monday entered into a leachate and sludge disposal agreement between the city and Evergreen Recycling and Disposal Facility, Inc.
Public Service Director Paul Roman called it a “barter agreement” between the city and Evergreen.

Lake Twp. – Police charged Connie S. Ray, 57, Lakeshore Drive, with obstructing official business on Oct. 19 after they were alerted about another person at the same location with active warrants from another jurisdiction.

Officials from Lucas and Ottawa counties plan to conduct more sampling from Cedar and Crane creeks before applying for state funding for a major sewer project in the Curtice/Williston area.

With a few exceptions, voters in Ottawa County will primarily face renewal levies on the Nov. 5 ballot.
The exceptions include requests for additional millage in the Village of Genoa, the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District and Allen Township.
