Northwood, like communities across the country, has undergone economic and social disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But Northwood Mayor Edward Schimmel, in his state of the city address, said the “state of our community continues to be strong.”
Northwood expects to take bids this year to build a new community center where the former Woodville Mall was located.
Five acres of the 120 acre site, off Woodville Road, will be dedicated to the construction of the new center.
Northwood last year set out to provide residents, businesses and students with examples of community reinvestment, vision and streamlined regulations, according to Northwood Mayor Ed Schimmel in his state of the city address.
