Jerusalem Township will not have its own property maintenance code after all. A draft of a proposed maintenance code was discussed at previous meetings, but met with considerable opposition in December.

Jerusalem Township, in partnership with the Reno Beach Howard Farms Conservancy District, received an Ohio Lake Erie Commission grant for $83,200 to establish a framework for risk assessment of the comprehensive water control system along Lake Erie.
The Jerusalem Township Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 12412 LaFontaine Dr. on Feb. 11. The cause was an unattended fire in a burn barrel that accidentally spread to the garage, said Jerusalem Township Fire Chief Tony Parasiliti.

Jerusalem Township trustees are reviewing a draft property maintenance code that was passed by its zoning commission.
Trustee Mark Sattler said a special meeting will be scheduled in the future to review the code with the public.
