Woodmore board hires treasurer

Staff Writer

The Woodmore school board Wednesday approved the hiring of a new treasurer.
The board hired Lisa Cruickshank, who previously worked for the Genoa School District.
She was issued a three-year contract with a starting annual salary of $87,000 by the Woodmore board.
The contract goes into effect Sept. 1 and expires July 31, 2025.
The board also approved retaining her as a consultant at a per diem rate of $334.62 from Aug. 4 through Aug. 31.
At Genoa, Cruickshank was the director of business services in the administration office.
She is replacing Dan Russomanno, who has been the Woodmore treasurer since February 2017. He has been hired as treasurer of the Fostoria School District.
In other business, the board approved a resolution of necessity to place a levy renewal property tax request on the Nov. 8 ballot.
The 3-mill, 5-year tax is a permanent improvement levy that is used to fund the purchases of equipment, buildings and other assets that have a life of five years or more. It can’t be used on personnel salaries or benefits.
The board is opting to place the levy on the ballot as a continuous issue rather than a 5-year issue.
The Sandusky County auditor has certified the millage as sufficient to generate approximately $596,786 annually, Russomanno said, adding that could change as the valuation of the Nexus pipeline hasn’t been settled.
