Winners announced in “In the Garden” juried art exhibition

        Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, Elmore, is hosting “In the Gardens,” a Toledo Federation of Art Societies Members’ Exclusive Juried Exhibition, April 27-June 30 in the McAlear Gallery at the Brown Welcome Center.
        The show includes 20 artists showcasing 30 selected works. All works are for sale.
        An Artists Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held Sunday, June 6 from 2-4 p.m. Schedel is located at 19255 W. Portage River South Rd., Elmore.
        Exhibition winners include:
        • First place: “Tsunami,” Encaustic and Mixed Media, by Christine Deemer.
        • Second place: “Who's Watching the Watchman, Colored Intaglio Aquatint Chine Collé, by Craig Fisher.
        • Third place: “Woodlawn,” Oil Pastel, by Julie Draeger.
        Honorable mentions include:
        • “Red Moon,” Etching and Chine-Collé, by Tara Yarzand; “Highway, Sunset 1,” Four by Five Photography, by Dana King; and “Bridge into Light,” Oil on Canvas, by Michelle Paine.
        Voting for People’s Choice Award will be held at Schedel Gardens, as well as at The People’s Choice Award winner will be announced at Artist Reception on June 6.
        All votes must be received by June 5. More details are available at and at Schedel Gardens. Juror Lynette Scott present awards at the reception. Scott is the executive director of Artlink, a nonprofit art space and contemporary gallery located on the Arts Campus Fort Wayne.
        The exhibition is open to the public during Schedel’s regular hours – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-4 p.m.
