“We truly have much to celebrate with our `25–26 Broadway in Toledo Season announcement, featuring a slate of first national tours and direct-from-Broadway engagements,” said Amy Hamm, president and executive director, The American Theatre Guild. “We are presenting two shows that are currently running on Broadway – the dazzling new musical based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless novel, ‘The Great Gatsby,’ and the hit musical with `90s pop songs that flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, ‘& Juliet.’
“These shows are joined by the Tony Award-winning musical comedy scored by a Grammy Award-winning country songwriting team, ‘Shucked,’ and “A Beautiful Noise’ – the true story based on the life of American rock icon, Neil Diamond, who penned classics like ‘Forever in Blue Jeans’ and ‘Sweet Caroline.
“We round out our season with the all-new North American touring production of ‘The Wiz,’ direct from a spectacular revival on Broadway,” Hamm said. “We have programmed a Broadway Season that allows the Toledo community to experience the best of Broadway in their own backyard.
Hamm goes on to say, “And just when you thought the season couldn’t get any better, we are also thrilled to announce an expanded number of Broadway performances in Toledo. We are moving to a full week of eight performances for each touring Broadway engagement,” she said. “Our next season will provide more opportunities for patrons to experience all the fun and excitement that Broadway has to offer.”
