In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy first-graders designed and created “kindness rocks” with messages of love, support, and happy designs to be placed all around the community for people to find to brighten their day.
First-grade teachers Karen Kimerer and Kristah Agee collaborated on the project. “We loved this idea, and together we decided, what better month to schedule this project than Mental Health Awareness Month?” said Agee. “We are hoping that when someone finds the rock in the community, it makes them smile to know that our students created these with love and are excited about the fact that someone would find it and take it home or maybe pass it on to someone else who needs a smile.”
“Each rock is sealed and has a QR code and encourages the finder of the rock to share it on social media so our students might see who has their rock,” Kimerer said.
