Heidelberg scholarship
Clay High School senior Madison Huss is the recipient of a major scholarship to attend Heidelberg University.
Huss, the daughter of Don and Michelle Huss, of Millbury, has received the Fellows Award for four years. The award was announced following Heidelberg's annual scholarship competition earlier this academic year.
Students who rank near the top of their high school class are invited to participate in the university's annual scholarship competition. The program recognizes students based on high school grade-point average and ACT or SAT test scores. In addition to weighing a student's academic credentials, the competition also looks at leadership skills and community service through a personal interview, a portfolio and an essay.

Congressional District Invitational Art Exhibition
The Arts Commission and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur congratulated several area high school students who participated in the 37th Annual Ninth Congressional District Invitational Art Exhibition.
Seventy-two artworks from students attending 10 different local high schools are included in this year’s exhibition.
Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School students Ashley Dunnigan, Nik Lesle-Pilner, Veronica Gonzales, Sharon Segura, Allison Fellman and Aniela Montiel were among the participants.
Winners included “Blue Moon,” by Collette Jarrell (Maumee Valley Country Day School), first place; “Just A Thought,” by Mikayla Alvarez (Whitmer High School), second place and “Search for Implication at Dusk,” by Caiden Lambert-Lyons (Maumee Valley Country Day School).
The first-place winner’s piece will be displayed in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. for one year. The second and third place winners’ works will hang in Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur’s local offices in Toledo and Cleveland.
The Toledo reception planned for April 5 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. An exhibition reception at Baldwin Wallace College scheduled for May 4 in Berea, Ohio has also been canceled.
