Simmons debuts as Gray Wolves second at The Legacy

Led by a third place individual finish from Alban Bruyas (Grenoble, France/Lycee Philippine Duchesne), Lourdes finished in a tie for second place at their own Lourdes Invitational held at The Legacy Golf Club on Tuesday.
Lourdes golfer Isaac Simmons (Genoa) fired an 81 in his first round of the year, played on the 6,895-yard par 72 layout.
The Gray Wolves posted a team score of 313, tying with Cleary in the final standings, and finishing one stroke ahead of Ohio Dominican in the 10-school field.  Siena Heights was crowned the team champion, posting a score of 304 on the afternoon.
“The wind played havoc with most of our shots, but we scrambled pretty well,” coach Gil Guerrero said.  “We are still not using our short games well enough. We have to keep working hard and good things will happen.”
Bruyas finished in a three-way tie for third after carding a three-over par round of 75 on the blustery afternoon.  Cleary’s Mike Kee took home medalist honors with a one-under par 71 while Garrett Ramos of Siena Heights finished runner-up with a 74.
All 13 players on the Lourdes roster teed it up on Tuesday, with six players making their 2021-2022 season debuts.
