Sen. Gavarone recognizes Benton-Carroll-Salem excellence

        The Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education hosted State Sen. Theresa Gavarone at Rocket Stadium on Friday, Oct. 4 during the Rockets home football game.
        At the end of the first quarter of the game, Sen. Gavarone presented a Senatorial Citation to the students and staff of Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools for being one of the Top 10 performing school districts in Northwest Ohio as measured by the 2019 state report card.
        Benton-Carroll-Salem was also the top performing school district in Ottawa County.
        In her citation, Sen. Gavarone noted, “The leaders and staff of the district have been responsive to the needs and interests of young people, preparing them to assume meaningful roles in our complex society. All those responsible for the institution's success can reflect, with pride on its strong tradition of scholastic eminence, upon which it can build an even more productive and rewarding future.”
