Robert "Robs" Tapia
Robert “Robs” Tapia, 68, of Genoa, Ohio, died peacefully on October 19 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after losing his battle with lung cancer. He was born in Fremont, Ohio, on November 3, 1954 to Santos and Dolores Tapia.
Robert attended The Ohio State University and then moved to Southern California for thirty years, working primarily for various freight companies at LAX. He returned to the family homestead in Genoa to join his brother Rick, helping with the garden, tending to their flock of chickens, and along the way acquiring two stray cats as companions.
Robert is survived by his brothers Richard “Rick” Tapia and Jesse (Christina) Tapia, sister-in-law Joan Tapia, and was a loving uncle to nieces Anne (Ernie Long) and Maggie Tapia, nephews Alex Tapia and David Tapia, three great-nephews and a great-niece. A brother, Joseph Anthony “Tony” Tapia is deceased.
The family is grateful to the staff of St Charles Hospital and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care of Robert. A private family gathering will take place in the future.
