Order of the Eastern Star to meet
The 130th session of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, which is to be known as the “Nature’s Life and Beauty” session, will be held at Kalahari Resort, 7000 Kalahari Dr., Sandusky, Sept. 27-29.
Michelle Howell, Worthy Grand Matron of Carrollton, Ohio, and William (Bill) Cox, Worthy Grand Patron of Brecksville, Ohio will preside over the sessions.
An Open Installation (by invitation only) of the 2019-2020 Grand Officers at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 29, will close the Grand Chapter Session.
Margaret (Margi) Wheeler of Gallipolis, Ohio, will be installed as Worthy Grand Matron and Charles (Chuck) Merckle of New Matamoras, Ohio, will be installed as Worthy Grand Patron.
Other officers include Michelle Howell of Clarksville, Ohio; Gayle Sutherin, of Marion, Ohio; Carol Gramm Wise, of Lima, Ohio; Cynthia Chadwell, of Grove City, Ohio and Rita Dropsey of Mansfield, Ohio.
The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both men and women may belong and through which members contribute time, energy, and talent to their local communities with charity, truth and kindness.
While the Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over time, it remains rooted in charitable endeavors and fraternal fellowship and offers its members a wide variety of opportunities for personal growth and community involvement.
