Patrick J. Heider

Patrick J. Heider, 67 of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, November 4, 2023.  Pat was born in Oregon, Ohio on June 7, 1956, to Clarence and Norma (Croak) Heider.  He was a 1974 graduate of Northwood High School.  He furthered his education at the University of Toledo, receiving his bachelor and master's degrees in geology and later served as an adjunct professor at the university. He worked as a geologist for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency before retiring in 2010. Pat was an avid collector of antique tractors and hit & miss engines, attending collector shows throughout the country. He also had a lifelong passion for cars, owning several hundred over his lifetime.
Surviving are his mother, Norma, brothers Joseph, Timothy (Hollie), Michael (Mary Ann DeSanzo), nephews Ryan Heider (Alison), Andrew Heider, Patrick Heider, niece Samantha Heider, and grandnieces Clara Mae and Charlotte Heider.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Heider Jr., grandparents Clarence Sr. and Leona Heider and Raymond and Velma Croak.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at Lake Township Cemetery.  Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Patrick's memory are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association.
