Ottawa County: Grand jury indicts 6
The Ottawa County Grand Jury issued six indictments during its recent session, according to Prosecuting Attorney James Van Eerten.
-Marcella Seiser, Port Clinton, was indicted on felony charges of abduction, disrupting public services, and assault of a police officer, along with misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, aggravated menacing, and child endangering.
According to reports of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after Seiser allegedly caused physical harm to a family member, took the victim’s home and detained the victim.
Seiser was taken into custody and transported to the county detention facility where she reportedly assaulted two deputies.
-Garrett Brewster, whose last known address is Painesville, has been charged with two counts of failure to comply and one count of vehicular assault after a chase July 10 that began in Port Clinton and ended in a collision with another vehicle in Sandusky County.
-Chris Whitney, Clinton Township, Michigan, has been charged with one count of theft and two counts of forgery, all felonies, after he allegedly cashed two fraudulent checks drawn on an account of a Clay Township business in April.
-Ronald Geffeller, Sandusky, was indicted on one count each of possession of cocaine, a first degree felony, and misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Geffeller was allegedly found to be intoxicated after he was involved in an accident in March. Troopers investigating the accident reportedly found him in possession of more than 27 grams of a substance later identified as cocaine.
-Dustin Mattingly, Elmore, was charged with possession of weapons while under disability, a third degree felony.
-Daniel Fishburn, Marengo, Ohio, was indicted on one felony count of aggravated vehicular assault, and misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle. Troopers found he was intoxicated when he caused an accident in Danbury Township on July 11.
Summonses have been issued for Whitney, Mattingly, and Fishburn to make their initial appearances in Ottawa County Common Pleas Court. Warrants have been issued for the other defendants.
