Oak Harbor athletic boosters rebooting hall of fame

The Oak Harbor Athletic Department in concert with the Oak Harbor Athletic Boosters have announced the restart and rededication of the Oak Harbor Athletic Hall of Fame after a long hiatus.

The rededicated Hall of Fame will feature its own room at Oak Harbor High School directly off the cafeteria. The Oak Harbor Athletic Hall of Fame room is still a work in progress, but it will feature two touch screen television monitors where visitors can search for information on hall of fame Inductees and current records.

Visitors to the room will also be able to search 72 years worth of Oak Harbor High School yearbooks.  Oak Harbor has teamed up with “Touchpros” to create a URL that can be accessed from any computer to see all of the information. To access the webpage go to: oakharborrockets.touchpros.com.

The next induction of past student athletes into the Oak Harbor Athletics Hall of Fame will be in the fall of 2021.  There is a nomination form on the B-C-S website (www.bcssd.com) under the athletics page. The due date for nominations will be June 30 of each year. Nominations forms and additional materials need to be sent to the Hall of Fame committee’s email address at halloffame@bcssd.com

“We are proud to re-dedicate our Athletic Hall of Fame to honor the achievements of our past student-athletes who contributed so much to our high school and athletic program,” said Oak Harbor Athletic Director Daniel Hoover.  Hoover added:

“A huge thank you goes out to the Oak Harbor Athletic Boosters for sponsoring the Hall of Fame and to the many people that have helped with this effort including Matt Tooman, Co-Chair, and the entire Hall of Fame Committee. A special thank you goes out to Jake Zbierajewski at Image Metal Arts for donating the History of our Rockets pieces hanging in the Hall of Fame room.”
