Red Cross volunteers
deployed to Texas
Ten trained volunteers from the Northern Ohio Region of the American Red Cross are currently in Texas, helping people who were affected by Hurricane Beryl and the storm’s aftermath. They are among more than 500 Red Crossers who are working with Texas government officials and community partners to support mobile feeding and distribute relief supplies.
The Red Cross is focused on supporting the growing need for emergency shelter as Texans seek relief from extreme heat and massive power outages after Hurricane Beryl.
Red Cross volunteers will also help assess the residential damage in affected communities. This work will help to better understand what help families may need in the coming days and weeks. Beryl has caused significant damage, and the Red Cross will be with those affected in the weeks and months to come, helping them recover.
Volunteers are always needed to help people impacted by disasters. To learn more about becoming a Red Cross volunteer, visit redcross.org/volunteer.
