Mercy Health, TARTA raise health awareness at Hub of Hope

        Recognizing the need to provide easy access to health care services, Mercy Health is partnering with TARTA to bring smoking cessation education and blood pressure screenings to area bus riders.
        The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) created the “Hub of Hope” at its downtown Toledo Transit Hub, 612 N. Huron St., to provide a space for local organizations looking to offer outreach services. Mercy Health is among the organizations that have committed to providing educational opportunities at the transit station.
        “Our teams know that it can be difficult for some to access needed health and wellbeing services. Through this partnership with TARTA, Mercy Health is bringing needed education and awareness directly to those who can benefit,” said Jessica Henry, director, Mercy Health – Toledo Community Health. “Mercy Health offers high quality treatment within our medical facilities and is also committed to reaching outside of our walls to ensure that everyone has access to the care they need.”
        On Wed., June 15, Mercy Health Community Health nurses will be on hand to offer blood pressure screenings and to provide education and awareness on how to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
        Mercy Health will also be providing additional education opportunities at the Hub of Hope in future months.
