Mary "Marge" Makin

Marge Makin, 80, of Genoa, Ohio died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg after a sudden illness.  She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 21, 1940, the daughter of John and Mary M. (Koska) Vass, Jr.  She attended St. Ursula in Toledo and graduated in 1958.  Marge met the love of her life, Kenneth "Ken" Makin, in sixth grade, and on May 9, 1959 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Toledo, they were married.
 
Marge (homemaker) had worked for several area companies and worked for Jeep Corp., part time, and retiring from there after 25 years.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ken, children, Kevin (Gayle) Makin, Debbie (Curt) Kimball and Kent (Pam) Makin, grandchildren, Keith (Andrea) Makin, Amanda (Mike) Guy and Aubrey (Ben) Shiffert, great grandchildren, Wyatt and Silas Makin and Aeris Guy.  Her sister, Violet Vass-McGill also survives.  Marge was preceded in death by her parents and beloved grandson, Ryan Kimball.
 
Per Marge's wishes, there are no services scheduled.  The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
 
A ray of sunshine, beautiful warm and bright, Mary Margaret Makin was and is pure, loving, radiant light.
Like a warm island breeze her careful embrace had the power to erase…All the bad and replace with good, a blessing that she received from God that only she and he understood.
Her light has returned to Heaven you see, but she made sure to share a special sparkle  with each and every member of her family     -Aubrey Shiffert
