Luis & Margarita Mendoza

Luis (86) and Margarita (84) Mendoza, of Bono, Ohio, passed away on June 16, and June 11, 2021, respectively, with family by their side.
Luis was born on August 25, 1934 in Mier Y Noriega, Mexico to the late Nicolas and Elidia (Torres) Mendoza.
Margarita was born on August 22, 1936 and was one of 8 children of the late Cresencio and Zenaida (Arriaga) Celestino.
On August 28, 1954, they married in Toledo, and shared very nearly 67 loving years together.
Luis worked for General Motors, retiring in 1998. He was a builder and an electrician by trade. He could build anything the family needed and could fix it all. He enjoyed watching boxing and the Cleveland Browns. Later in life, he found a love for baking. He enjoyed making his favorite zucchini bread and cookies. Luis also had a passion for gardening and tending to his fruit trees. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended every one of their events.
Margarita's first pride and joy was her family and her unwavering faith. She loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children will remember her as an amazing cook, whose homemade tortillas and rice were the best, bar none. Sewing, crafting, and gardening were other favorite pastimes. Margarita was always busy, but always had time for those who needed her. Her presence was always welcoming, and those who knew her could feel her radiating love.
Left to cherish their memory are their children, Jesus (Suzanna) Mendoza of Northwood, Albert Mendoza of Toledo, Elidia Mendoza of Bono, Martha (Mark) Klempner of Toledo, and Luis (Billi Jo) Mendoza Jr. of Bono; Margarita's siblings, Frank Celestino, Mary Lopez, Alice Sanchez, Irene Perez, and Santos Celestino; Luis's multiple siblings; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Luis is preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Elidia; and multiple siblings.
