Biden not
consistent

To the editor: Anyone who claims to be pro-life must be consistent in their thoughts and actions. If one believes that life is sacred but does not practice what they preach, are they really pro-life? Pro-life means we care about everyone and their needs.
One cannot be for legal abortion and yet against the death penalty. One condemns the innocent and sets the guilty free. Many can disagree but if you are for life in the womb you should also be for the life of a death row convict.
President Biden after speaking on the phone with Pope Francis commuted 37 death row sentences. Yet, throughout his presidency and before, he encouraged and promoted the legal right to abortion. The Pope is against both. Why isn't Biden if he was influenced by the Pope? Election?
It must be asked! Why the inconsistency? Does he think this exonerates him from his abortion position and the 10 percent of the millions his son got from adversaries because of his name? This position and Covid led to his election.
What a wicked web we weave when first we practice to deceive!
P.S. This is exactly what the Scribes and Pharisees did. They condemned the innocent Jesus and set the murderer Barabbas free.

Reduced traffic
has benefits
To the editor: Instead of widening I-475 how about working on reducing traffic. This can be done by having people and businesses buying local.
Also, consumers should consolidate their shopping trips when possible.
Remember, President-elect Trump is talking about bringing back businesses to this country. How about making those companies small and operating locally all over the U.S.
We could also promote more use of bicycles and smaller cars instead of more roads.
Working from home also means less cars on the roads.

Middle school
worth saving
To the editor: I don’t understand why the Oak Harbor Village Council and Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education aren’t working together to try and find investors willing to renovate the vacated middle school building.
If they don’t reach out to them no one will know it is available.
If someone is willing to invest their own money to renovate the school building why not let them?
What an asset it would be to the community. Let’s not be in such a big hurry to tear the school down.
Once it is gone, it is gone forever.
