Letters To The Editor
Who’s brainwashed?
To the editor: A recent letter in The Press upset me. It stated that "Trump supporters lie from being brainwashed" but with no facts given to back it up.
Under President Biden we have had high inflation and 2 million plus illegal immigrants have been and are invading our borders. That’s not sustainable and the reasons for invasion are irrelevant.
It has never been proven that Trump tried to lead a "revolt" and destroy democracy and have the Georgia governor change the electoral vote.
Trump called for a peaceful rally on Jan. 6th and a peaceful walk to the Capitol.
Corporate leaders and billionaires donated to the Biden and Harris campaigns.
The letter gave a lot of opinion and speculations about Trump and his supporters, which are irrelevant without facts.
"Fascist dictatorship" is another statement with no proof and the letter writer never stated the titles of the books he's complaining are being banned in schools, libraries and colleges.
As far as no proof/evidence regarding "global warming", Al Gore's book in 2006 stated in 10 years, "If nothing is done to curb the emissions of carbon dioxide and other green house gases, temperatures will rise, ice caps will melt, ocean levels will rise and weather patterns across the globe will be disrupted." None of this has happened. Volcano eruptions give off more Co2 than any human can in a lifetime.
Again, facts matter and not speculations and opinions.

Who’s confused,
brainwashed?
To the editor: I read the letter to the editor "Trump supporters brainwashed" in The Press dated August 12.
I think that the person who wrote that letter must be confused because that sounds like what is happening with the Democrats being in control of our country and economy.
Former president Ronald Reagan once asked, "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" I'm certainly not better now than four years ago.
Some states are allowing illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses so they can vote in the upcoming federal elections.
Do you want to continue paying increases in taxes, housing, food, etc. while your tax dollars are paying for all the freebies that our government is giving to support illegals?
Wake up before you lose all your freedoms and purchasing power to people who never made the sacrifice of working in America, raising a family in America, or serving in the United States military, and protecting your homeland to keep our freedoms.

Help where
you can
To the editor: Many Americans seem to be sitting around waiting for someone else or for the government to do things for them. Let’s put a stop to that. The national debt is more than $35 trillion.
Please help people – and, in turn, our country – as much as you can. If someone needs help with their garden, and you can help, then do so.
Be a Good Samaritan. If there is a blighted house that needs to be torn down, and you and other qualified people have permission, tear it down.
You can help our country by writing your congressional representative and getting involved in government.
Fighting the toxic algae blooms in Lake Erie is one area you can help. It is not just the Confined Animal Feeding Operations that are the sole cause of the problem. Although I don’t like CAFOs which have 1,000 or so cattle, some feedlots have almost 100 times that number. I believe there should not be more than 50 cattle per farm.
It is the dissolved phosphate in the commercial fertilizer that contributes to the problem. It’s used on the fields, then gets into the plants, and then animals and people which eat them. Eventually, it makes its way to streams, creeks, and rivers that flow into the lake.
You can vote with your dollars and have a hand in correcting this problem by buying organically produced food.
