Latta roundtable focused on energy

         Last week, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) joined representatives from Ohio’s energy industry and local economic community to discuss the current challenges Ohioans are facing, including high energy and gas prices, costly and burdensome regulations that delay energy infrastructure projects, inflation and supply chain problems, and American energy security.
        “Americans are paying more at the pump and on their electric and natural gas bills because of record high inflation and policies that are hostile to American energy,” said Latta. “Folks here in Ohio are demanding solutions.
        “This morning, I gathered with leaders in our energy industry to discuss the United States’ leading role as a producer of petroleum and natural gas and how bureaucratic restrictions and hostile green policies are choking off financing for new projects and improvements,” continued Latta. “There are tens of thousands of products that are made from both petroleum and natural gas that are essential to our everyday lives. For the U.S. to maintain its role as a leader in global energy, we must focus our efforts on maintaining and improving our refineries here at home.”
        He thanked everyone for attending the roundtable.
        “I would like to thank all who participated in this roundtable and for sharing their insights into how we can provide relief to my constituents in the Fifth District as they continue to feel the burden of increased prices,” concluded Latta.
